Many Sinhalese brides take part in another bridal function that is called the 'Home Coming', which takes place after the honeymoon (This is for our foreign friends). Usually hosted by the bridegroom's family, the function's main objective is to welcome the new bride into the groom's family.

Traditionally, the bride wears the Kandyan Saree, although with new trends and styles, they have chosen variations of the Kandyan Saree or other different attire. Although it is good to stick to traditions, there's no harm in making your bridal outfit different from others. After all, it is this difference that attracted your groom!
