DAY EXCURSIONS TO SIGHTS OF INTEREST ORGANIZED        BY THE HOTEL
- Visit to Nuwara Eliya, a mountain city home to the finest tea in the world. Learn the art of plucking the legendary “ two leaves and a bud” and enjoy a “ Tea plucking competition”. The process of tea manufacturing could also be observed.

- Journey through history – a visit to “ Loolecandura “ plantation at Hewaheta to see Field No. 07, with the original tea bushes plants in 1867 by Scottish pioneer James Taylor followed by a visit to the “Tea Museum” at Hantanne where a wide range of memorabilia could be viewed.

- Be fascinated at the “ Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage” – a riverside sanctuary, which cares for Elephants displaced from wild habitats. Watch these gentle giants being fed & bathed at scheduled times daily.

- Explore the Forbidden forest – “ Udawatte Kelle” . Enjoy the wonders of this verdant nature reserve located within the city of Kandy , with a wealth of indigenous and endemic plants. The services of a guide would be provided during this excursion.

- Be mesmerized by the Sigiriya Rock fortress built in the 5th century AD, recognized as a world heritage site by UNESCO with it’s famed frescoes painted in a sheltered pocket of the giant rock .

- Be fascinated with the rich legacy of Kandyan Royalty- Visit three main monuments which belong to the 14th century and are located within close proximity to each other. The Gadaladeniya temple built of stone with it’s lacquered doors and wall murals , Lankathilaka temple a brick built building with a peculiar architectural design and the Embekke temple famed for it’s carved wooden pillars with intricate design.

- Enjoy the highlights off Kandy the sanctuary of traditional cultyure with a visit to the “Dalada Maligawa” the temple of the sacred tooth relic, The river girdled 57 hectare Royal Botanical Gardens ,Peradeniya, the Peradeniya University designed by Sir Patrick Abercrombie the famed designer of greater London , and a scenic drive around the Kandy lake.

- Play a round of golf at the scenic and challenging Victoria Golf Links with views of the sweeping waters of the Victoria reservoir – An 18 hole golf course situated 25 Kms away from the hotel.

- Shop at the colourful local bazaars, stocked with fruit, flowers , food items , handicrafts, batiks , spices & silks.

- Experience the thrills and spills of shooting rapids and the euphoria of making it through, as you go white water rafting on the Mahaweli river. There are 4 rapids and it takes approx 45 mins to complete this run.
